About

Our story

đź‘‹ Hi, I'm Donovan, husband to Emily, my high school sweetheart of 20 years, dad to Winston (8) and Miles (4), software developer by day, and storyteller by night.

For years, I've been making up elaborate bedtime stories for my boys, building robots with them, and dreaming up experiments to keep their curiosity alive. They're the kind of kids who love doing science experiments at the kitchen table, building dinosaur scenes, and turning craft supplies into whatever their imagination dreams up.

How it started

Both boys have dino-obsessions, so I created a dino fossil mystery with letters, trading cards, and clues. I mailed them without telling the boys it was from me. I wanted to see their real reactions.

The result? "I'm a real paleontologist now!" "When is the skull coming in the mail?" They carried those materials everywhere and did full sprints to the mailbox. They couldn't wait for the next letter.

That's when I knew I was onto something.

What we're building

The Story Post delivers serialized mystery stories through the mail. Each 6-letter arc turns kids into detectives, explorers, and problem-solvers. They collect trading cards, decode clues, and piece together mysteries—one letter each week.

It's educational without feeling like homework. It's designed to spark curiosity, critical thinking, imagination, and that feeling of accomplishment when you finally crack the case.

Winston and Miles help shape the storylines. The north star is simple: Building magical educational story experiences.

Thanks for being here,

Donovan
